Dog Owner Compass is a research-based buying guide for first-time dog owners in the United States. We help readers compare beginner training options and essential home equipment.
Our approach
We compare documented features, course formats, instructor backgrounds, support, access and purchase terms. For equipment, we look at suitability, dimensions, materials, cleaning instructions, delivery and returns.
We distinguish research-based reviews from first-hand testing. We do not claim to have owned or tested a product unless that experience is specifically documented. Manufacturer claims are attributed, and unknown details stay unknown.
Our limits
This site is operated by an independent publisher, not a professional dog trainer or veterinary practice. Our comparisons help with purchasing decisions and do not replace an individual assessment by a qualified professional.
US focus
Recommendations focus on products and services available to US customers. Delivery areas, prices and seller terms can change, so readers should check the merchant’s current information before ordering.
